Sacramento State Men’s Soccer, Arath Chavez reportedly dead.  According to a statement released by the club, Aarath Chavez tragically lost on January 13 2021.

The Sacramento State Men’s Soccer announced the death of Arath in an official statement released by the Men’s Soccer Head Coach, Mike Linenberger through their social media handle.

The Hornet family is deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Arath Chavez, a beloved member of the Sacramento State Men’s Soccer program. Our hearts go out to Arath’s friends and family.

We are devastated to learn of Arath’s Tragic passing last night. The news is devastating for his family, for our soccer program, The athletics department, and our greater Sacramento state community.

Arath was such a positive influence on everyone – always upbeat and energetic with a smile on his face. He was dearly loved by his teammates and our staff, He will be missed immensely by all of us in his Hornet Faimly.

Arath Chavez played in 17 of the Hornets’ 18 matches in 2019. He was one of the team’s go-to-reserves in 2019 – his 16 matches off the bench were more than any other player (next closest was 13).

In his first active season, finished with nine points, tied for third-most on the team. Arath led the Hornets with five assists while also scoring two goals.
